Child Health and Immunisations

We strongly recommend full immunisation and developmental checks for all pre-school children. These are carried out by the Health Visitor and Doctors.

The Immunisation Clinic is held every Wednesday morning and is run by Una Allen. The Baby Clinic is also on Wednesday morning and is run by our Health Visitor, Mrs Geraldine McCurdy. No appointment is needed.

Maternity Care

Both doctors provide antenatal and pre-pregnancy care during normal surgery hours.

Karen Lilley, Sarah Nixon and Anne Beggs our Community Midwives are available by contacting the Moyle Hospital on 028 2827 5431.

Family Planning
Both doctors provide Family Planning advice. Regular cervical smears are recommended and carried out by the Practice Nurse on Tuesdays and Wednesdays or doctors in normal surgery hours.

Minor Surgery

Both doctors provide minor surgery such as the removal of cysts and lumps, treatment of ingrowing toenails, etc. under local anaesthetic.

Asthma Clinic

The Respiratory Clinic’s are run by Una Allen and she is available to see patients on an appointment basis.  We will endeavour to arrange appointments to suit you.  We recommend that you attend every year for a review, even if you are feeling well.

Diabetic Clinic

The clinic is held regularly and is run by the doctors and Practice Nurse by appointment.  Bloods are checked the previous week in preparation for the clinic.  We also run a diabetic eye screening service once a year for our diabetic patients.

Cardiac Screening/Stroke Prevention& Lifestyle Advice

The Practice Nurse provides blood pressure checks, cholesterol checks and lifestyle advice. We recommend that all patients with a history of Heart Disease and Stroke are reviewed every year.

Smoking Cessation

We provide patients with support and advice on stopping smoking.  If you want to stop smoking we recommend that you attend regularly before receiving any form of Nicotine Replacement Therapy.

Yellow Fever Vaccination

We are a designated Yellow Fever Centre, which means you can attend us directly for a Yellow Fever Vaccination.  We also offer this service to patients who are not registered.  If you require a Yellow Fever Vaccination, you should contact Reception and arrange an appointment

Prescriptions

Prescriptions can be obtained by telephone, calling in person or by email. Please allow up to 24 hours for repeat prescriptions. The doctor may ask to see you to check your condition and medications. You can request a repeat prescription by the following methods:
