Practice Issues – July 2023

We are continuing to experience considerable issues at present due to team sickness and holiday leave which is resulting in reduced medical cover. This is causing additional limitations in our service and at present there are days where we can only offer a Urgent Service. We ask that when you are making contact you provide us with as much information as possible. Our team are fully trained in Care Navigation and it may be that you do not need a GP appointment or telephone call but another service may be more appropriate for your needs which they can direct you too. Once we have reached maximum capacity you will have to ring the next day at 8.30am.

This system will ensure everyone who needs seen/assessed/treated, are done so not only in a timely manner but more importantly in a safe manner.  We hope that we will revert back to a ‘normal’ appointment system in the future but this is the only way we can safely operate at present.

Due to the reduction of clinical cover there are non essential services that unfortunately we have to suspend until further notice. This includes: Travel Advice and Routine Medicals such as HGV, PSV etc.

Travel Advice & Vaccination – The Belfast Travel Clinic can offer you Travel advice and Vaccinations. They can be contacted on 028 9065 7138. You can also contact them via their website Contact Us – Belfast Travel Clinic. Other private clinics are available. We are happy to provide any NHS vaccinations via prescription as required.

Medicals – Should you require a Medical Examination for HGV or PSV license, this can be done in the Private Sector. Your employer may be able to provide you with details. We cannot make specific recommendations and suggest you speak to colleagues or check the internet.

We all openly admit that we are currently not offering the Service we wish to but due to the continued Crisis in Primary Care we need to put these measures in place in order to protect Patients, Doctors and the entire Practice Team.

July Holidays – The Practice will be closed on Wednesday 12th July and Thursday 13th July. If you require Urgent Medical assistance on Wednesday 12th July you should contact Dalriada Urgent Care on 028 2566 3500.
